21st September, 2015

Integrated Neurological Services (INS) was pleased to welcome HRH Princess Alexandra on Tuesday 28th July 2015 to meet clients, staff and volunteers.  Ann Bond (Chief Executive) noted “It was a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate the exemplary work being offered in the local community to people with neurological conditions”. Her Royal Highness was given a tour of the facilities and took time to listen to those benefitting from the services on offer from INS.

Mrs Janet Skeen described the Princess as a “Very elegant lady”, while Mr Sean Hegarty noted that “Her Royal Highness was very interested in the different types of neurological conditions”. Mrs Sunita Basarke added that the day proved “great, absolutely out of this world”.

The clinical staff team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and social workers, provided a variety of demonstrations of the groups and activities developed by them to help provide life-long, neuro-support to people who have conditions such as MS, Stroke and Parkinson’s disease.

Staff and volunteers also had the chance to talk about the work they do for INS which includes local contracts with London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Hounslow to deliver advice, information and support to adults in the community with long-term conditions under the name of the Community Partnership.
