Mayor 2016 – 17 Councillor David Linnette
Message from the Mayor
I have lived in the borough for over 30 years and am a Councillor for Kew ward, having been elected for the first time in 2010.
During my six years as a Councillor I have served as Chair of the Planning Committee, Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and currently sit on the Heathrow liaison committee HACC and the national aviation body SASIG. I am also the Local Authority Governor for a community school in Kew.
In addition to my Council roles, I chair a River Thames Management Group that seeks to conserve and enhance the environment along both banks of the river.
I am a professional graphic designer, with my own practice based in Kew. In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis at a local club and regular walks around the many wonderful parks we have in the borough but mainly Richmond Park.
My chosen charity for this Mayoral year is INS, a borough wide and Twickenham based organisation supporting residents with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. We all know someone afflicted by these appalling conditions. My own family has been blighted by MS so I am delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause. I know the good people of INS will spend any money raised wisely.
Please support the Mayor’s events to raise money for INS.
