Over the last year, I’ve raised £126 for INS, just by signing up to easyfundraising and then doing my normal shopping online. Please consider doing this and helping us raise more funds for our work, it just takes a few minutes to sign up and it’s completely free of charge.’

Create your own fundraising event

Bake, swim, walk, run, anything! Come up with your own challenge or get involved in a public event. There are lots of national events and challenges like the London Marathon and also local events like Richmond RUN-FEST.

Take a look at our guide below, and find out how supporters Emma and Nancy raised money for us by running the Exmoor Trail Half Marathon.

Celebrate your birthday with a Facebook fundraiser

Want to share some birthday cheer with us? A birthday fundraiser is an easy way to raise money and awareness to support the work we do. The fundraiser is easy to set up and share.

  1. Close to your birthday, visit www.facebook.com/fundraisers/. You can do this by clicking the link, or tapping the Menu button on the right of your screen, and selecting Create Fundraiser.

  2. On the Create Fundraiser page, search for and select your cause. We are listed as Integrated Neurological Services.

  3. After clicking Next, you can choose how much money you want to raise. You can also write about why you’ve chosen to raise money for us, but don’t worry if you’re not sure what to say - Facebook will generate some text for you.

  4. When choosing the duration of your fundraiser, we recommend leaving it up for about one week.

  5. You can then choose a photo, if you would like to add a personal touch to your fundraiser, and click Create. Your fundraiser is now ready to share with family and friends.

How to fundraise with JustGiving

  1. Once you have chosen an event get in touch with us at admin@ins.org.uk, or call us at 020 8755 4000. We can help you promote your event and provide materials such as t-shirts and collection tins for the day.

  2. Set up a fundraising page: many people who fundraise for us like to use JustGiving to collect donations online. All the money raised on JustGiving goes to INS, and Gift Aid can be collected from donations.

Check out JustGiving’s guide to setting up a fundraising page here

Search for Integrated Neurological Services (INS) when you create your fundraising page and follow the steps to select what you’re fundraising for and set your target.

You can then use the link to your JustGiving page to share with family, friends, and colleagues to promote your fundraising. At INS, we will also use the link to promote your fundraising on our website and social media channels.

  3. Complete your event or challenge! If you post any photos or videos tag us on social media – we would love to see how your event goes and cheer you on.

  4. Pay in your fundraising – we recommend leaving your fundraising page open for a few weeks after your event or challenge, as this time period is often when the most donations come in.

Emma and Nancy’s Half Marathon

Emma and Nancy wanted to fundraise for INS as they know someone who has benefitted from our services. They got in touch with us after deciding to enter the Exmoor Trail Half Marathon, and we helped them set up a JustGiving page, which they promoted to friends, family, and colleagues.

We gave Nancy and Emma INS T-shirts to wear for the challenge and when they shared their training updates on social media, reminding our followers to donate. They conquered the Half Marathon and managed to raise an incredible sum of over £1,800 to support our work, over 3 times their original target of £500!
