INS welcomes anybody who is willing to offer their skills and some of their time to assist us in all areas of our work. We already have an invaluable team of volunteers who help us in many ways but we are currently looking for more support. Learn more

Since statutory funding is extremely limited, we depend for our financial support on donations, grants, fundraising events and user contributions. All donations are most gratefully received. Our administration costs are very low and almost all money received can be used to deliver better services to our clients and their carers. Learn more

A Supporter's Story

Over the weekend of 24th and 25th September I was in Disneyland Paris running in my first ever Semi-Marathon event! The weekend comprised of a 5k run on Saturday morning and a half-marathon (12 miles) on Sunday morning.

The course took us through the 2 Disney parks and the surrounding French countryside which had some beautiful views. All the Disneyland staff came out to cheer us on and some of the characters even came out to watch – I manged to meet and get photos with Captain Hook, Chewbacca and R2D2, and Woody and Jessie from Toy Story and I have some incredible memories of running through the Disneyland Castle just as the sun was rising over the park.

This was not only my first time; it was also the first running event in Disneyland Paris and I was honoured to be representing INS there! INS were such a great support system to my Dad and Step-Mum after she suffered a stroke and I am so proud that I completed such a grueling weekend and managed to raise so much money on their behalf. If you want to see more photos from the event, please click here and head over to my JustGiving page.
